Buying Intern in Color Cosmetics/

Philosophy, Hair Care and Devices, & Fragrance - Fall 2018

Currently I am a buying intern supporting the Household office at QVC and during the fall semester of my senior year I completed a buying internship in the Color Cosmetics/Philosophy. Hair Care and Devices, and Fragrance department at QVC. QVC is a home-shopping network that serves millions of people around the world. Their parent company, Quarate Retail Group, is #1 in video commerce, #3 in ecommerce in North America, and #3 in mobile commerce in the U.S. While interning I create and maintain new items in our IBM system and monitored the product life cycle through Quality Assurance. In addition I issue timely purchase orders with costing and quantity breaks based on shades. I also create retail-pricing documents by competitively shopping the market. This helps to create either an If Sold Separately value or verbal value which is shown on-air while selling the product. I also track and process buyer's samples from vendors including Shark, iRobot, Dyson, Bissell, Hoover, IT Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Laura Geller, Westmore Beauty, Julep, Browgal, Belle by Kim Gravel, tarte, Philosophy, WEN, Guerlain, Conair, NEST, and Nick Chavez.
